The following are the achievement of the Association since its formation:

MESWA Medical Centre: Deoband Unani Medical College.

This is a fully-fledged hospital at College premises in Deoband within and out-patient facilities. The institution is offering both quality and affordable services to the majority of the poor segment of society. The center can provide most medical services including Out-Patient treatment, In-Patient care, Surgery, Maternity, Laboratory, X-Ray / Scans, Pharmacy, and VCT. The institution employs about 90 staff including medical officers, clinical officers, anesthetics, nurses, and non-medical support staff.

DUMC has managed and treated a significant number of patients over the years and the table below indicates the numbers of patients attended in the various sections.

Nutrition Programme –
This was a pilot study conducted for one year, from 1st April 2008 to 31st April 2009, to establish the incident rate of mild/moderate malnutrition for children less than 5 years of age for selected Preschool institutes within the Deoband Constituency of Saharanpur district. The total number of sample studies was 150 children. This study concluded that there is mild to moderate cases of malnutrition among the under 5 years old (60% of the total sample) and we recommend to the parents to breastfeed their children for about 6 months from birth, cover children with mosquito nets when sleeping, boil untreated water and provide appropriate nourishment to their children.

We now look forward to expanding our program to cover a wider area within Saharanpur District.

Scholarships/loans

More than KES 3,000,000 was advanced to about 500 students to pursue degree and diploma courses in Deoband Unani Medical College, Deoband and Deoband Collge Of Higher Education between the years 1998 and 2012. Most of these students are now working in different professional fields such as Medicine, Law, Engineering, Teaching, etc.

Medical Courses

MESWA has been able to organize for training in Management and Communication skills to more than 500 youth and middle-class Managers on a free of charge basis in conjunction with Management Consultants from Nairobi and other Organizations such as British Council.

Award Ceremony

MESWA organizes the award ceremony to honor and recognize the excellent academic performance of Secondary and Primary school candidates to encourage others to put more effort into their studies.
